June 2023 - Lualemba Bungalow Resort - Nemberala Rote Island - Newsletter

Hi guys and gals

June 2023 newsletter has a cool surf trip to Ndana island where guests scored a few fun waves to themselves which is pretty rare these days anywhere in the world. Again we ventured to Saku Namor on Te Aila and scored some waves to ourselves. I set out solo on Te Aila and caught my second biggest GT while under sail. A picnic day out to Oeseli and hiked around the head land. Tland had some of the largest swells of the year but they weren’t as perfect one would like but everyone had fun and weren’t complaining. Enjoy this months newsletter.

Kool gardens and refreshing pool perfect for relaxing from the tropical sun.

P

icnic Day at Oeseli

When the surf is flat it is always good to browse around Rote checking out the landscapes. Surprising there is a to see with the islands rugged landscape. A group of guests decided to head out to Oeseli with a picnic lunch and stroll around the headland and a bit of sight seeing in the car.

Sail trip to Ndana Island

Taking Te Aila out for a day trip with the guests is a job at Lualemba Bungalows that I never get tied of doing. Ndana Island is such a beautiful place with it’s natural beauty and great waves which we managed to get to ourselves on this particular day. Fun and relaxing time returning home under sail just finishes the day out wonderfully.

Catching a GT Under Sail Solo

Caught this beauty under sail out on my own was a challenging experience as my auto pilot wasn’t working at the time. This GT weighted in at 24.5 kilo being the second biggest I’d ever caught. We barbecued half for dinner that night that was quite delicious.

Besialu Reef ( Tland ) had some fun runners during June.

June there was the biggest swell to hit Besialu this year but it wasn’t a nice clean swell. It had a bit of a wonk in it as 2 swells were pushing on to the reef. During the rest of June shoulder to head high faces were keeping the guests entertained. The winds were off shore the whole time so everyone was having fun.

Short Sail to Saku Namor.

Saku Namor is a right hander best early in the mornings before the trade winds come into force. We were lucky this day to pick up some small runners with just the guests from Lualemba Bungalows.
