January 2024 - Lualemba Bungalow Resort - Nemberala Rote Island - Monthly Newsletter

Hi Guys and Gals.

January is the off season for surfing and very little tourist come to Rote Island As the winds, rain aren’t favorable this time of year. In all the time I have been living on Rote Island it is the first time I have seen such little rain. Locals haven’t been able to start grow their yearly rice crops or any crops at all. Those who have attempted to grow any kind of crop have watched their seedlings just die with just centimeters of growth. That hasn’t stopped us at Lualemba Bungalow Resort from being busy. Renovations to bungalows and replacing some with new modern roofing but keeping the outer areas with the traditional Rote Island look. Jenet and I have ventured out taking advantage of time on our own visiting Titik Nol on Rote Island that is the most southern landmark in Indonesia. Well worth the visit if you are feeling adventurers but make sure you take some lunch it can be a long day. Our fluffy dogs have been enjoying Loedik beach in the afternoons it is such a beautiful place this time of year but can be rather horrendous during the dry season with onshore tradewinds 24/7. Enjoy this months newsletter. We are starting to get quite a flow of bookings for season 2024 that starts from April through into November so if you are considering visiting Lualemba Bungalow Resort be sure to send an email just to let us know what plans you are considering and maybe we can set the ball rolling. It’s easier than you may think through Lualemba Bungalow Resort.

Chick here to book your next Rote Island holiday 〰️

One of my favorite spots during the wet season.

It’s a beach life for 3 fluffy dogs.

Doli, Azora and Ozka love the beach and if you have ever dreamed of spending time on a picturesque beach with just your footsteps on the sand. Well these 3 spoilt brats do this on a a daily basises living someone else’s dream. The photos below say it all.

Bungalow renovations

Every wet season at Lualemba Bungalow Resort is always making a difference to improve for their guests. If you have stayed before you will see lots of differences in, out and around the Lualemba Bungalow Resort site. If it’s the gardens, the pool, the restaurant or the bungalows you’ll notice improvements. The latest to the bungalows is adding a timber effect ceiling with a pvca roofing material and the traditional coconut leaf added on top so the bungalows are even more cooler inside, a lot cleaner and easier to maintain for guests comfort. The older bungalows have been made larger with extra room space and even an extra rear terrace. More open space floor to ceiling giving a complete different look compared to the past.

Titik Nol Rote Island is worth the trip.

Titik Nol the most southern landmark in Indonesia.

It is bit of a trek to Titik Nol so take some lunch and plenty of water. Nemberala to Titik Nol there is plenty to see with outer islands and reefs along the coast and ever changing landscapes across the island. Once there you see the rugged coastal area of southern Rote Island. Many people from Indonesia travel here to embark on Indonesia’s most southern landmark including the Indonesian president Jokowi.
